Gombe Sport Commission Chair Resigns

As the 2023 general elections draw nearer, more political appointees have continued to resign from the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State.

Recently, two special advisers in the governor’s cabinet, Ms. Dijatu Bappa and Mr. Garba Jijji, have resigned their positions.

Similarly, the former Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Sports Commission, Mr. Hamza Adamu Soye, yesterday tendered his resignation letter to the governor.

Soye said in his resignation letter dated February 15, 2022, and addressed to the state governor, that “his resignation takes immediate effect.”

In a phone interview, the former executive chairman confirmed the letter to our correspondent but did not elaborate on the reasons behind his abdication of office.
