Former Minister, Ruma Buried in Katsina

The remains of a former Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Dr.Abba-Sayyadi Ruma, were interred in Katsina yesterday afternoon.

Ruma died on Wednesday morning in a London hospital at 59.

His body was flown to Katsina about noon shortly after which an ambulance conveyed it to GRA Central mosque where friends and sympathisers performed joint prayers for the late minister.

Among those who attended the prayers were the Secretary to Katsina State Government, Alhaji Inuwa Muhammed; the Independent National Electoral Commission, Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Alhaji Jibrin Zarewa and the District head for Batsari, Alhaji Muazu Ruma.

His remains were conveyed to the New Dammarrina graveyard in a procession led by the late minister’s younger brother, Kabiru and were interred about 12.40pm.

Ruma served under the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, between 2007 and 2010.
