Xolane Ndhlovu’s DafriBank Offers Africa’s First Digital Shares
Dafribank has made history as the first African bank to issue its share through digital currency as the months of strategic campaign for DafriBank Digital Ltd paid off recently
It’s chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ziggy Xolane Ndhlovu has continued to create the enabling environment for the growth of his new bank even as it gains a significant foothold in Nigeria and other African countries.
Since July when the bank went live, Ndhlovu has maintained the momentum with various bonanzas to his social media followers who opened accounts with the yet digital-only bank. One of such customer-reward schemes was his September 9 giveaway, published thus on the bank’s verified Instagram page, @dafribank: “Grab your own share of R250 000 personal giveaway by the chairman.”
Followers of the company on social media were encouraged to open an account with the bank on its website, www.dafribank.com, complete their KYC, and then “follow our chairman Xolane Ndhlovu on all social media” and also DafriBank on all social media.
Weekly winners were subsequently selected randomly from among those who complied with the instructions and based on their comments, share and retweet. Subsequently, the giveaway staged on September 20, recorded 10 winners from across Africa, including Nigerians, who were each credited R500 to their DafriBank account for submitting their videos of a Tongue-Twisting challenge. Names of the winners were published on Twitter and Instagram.
Recently, they embarked on a two-week radio tour which included a one-week appearance on RayPower 100.5 Abuja, from September 27th to October 5, 2021, daily at 9:45 am and 5:55 pm. It was not surprising, therefore, the massive subscription recorded by DafriBank Digital share, $DBA, when it went public recently at $1 per share and made it to an all-time high of $34 per share. Presently, trading at $19.80 per share on Coin Market Cap (CMC), the $DBA continues to generate interest across the continent.
