World Tourism Day at Nike Arts Gallery

The World Tourism Day 2021 was this week celebrated amid pomp and pageantry at the Nike Arts Gallery in Lagos, in collaboration with Sterling Bank. The bank says it is committed to developing and promoting sustainable tourism business by harnessing the unique, natural attractions and cultural heritage of the country. That was the reason it partnered with the CEO of one of the leading gallery in Africa, Chief Nike Okundaye, for the Tourism Day celebration.

The theme of this year’s celebration is, “Tourism for Inclusive Growth.” The event saw dignitaries from all walks of life at the Nike Arts Gallery with displays from cultural troupes like Adunni (Nefertiti), Uche Dancers, Ewi (Adelere Ojediwura), Modela fashion, and Tayo Conga.

Nike Art Gallery is arguably the largest of its kind in West Africa. Housed in a five-storey building, it boasts a collection of about 8,000 diverse artworks from various Nigerian artists.

The CEO popularly called Mama Nike was excited about the event.
