Anambra to Destroy Illegal Structures along Airport Road

The Anambra State Government has said that it would commence the destruction of illegal structures along the Anambra International Cargo Airport Road, Umueri, very soon.
The Chairman of the Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB), Mr. Chike Maduekwe, said the developers of the illegal structures failed to obtain the necessary approvals before building them.
Maduekwe said that a taskforce from the board carried out the marking on such illegal structures to serve as a warning to its owner on July 6.
He said: “The structures were supposed to be built about 100 meters away from the road.
“These things would have been spelt out to the developers if they had approached us before building such structures. But they are recalcitrant, and the board will demolish such structures because they are illegal.”
He cautioned that the ANSPPB would embark on the demolition of these illegal structures in the next two weeks.
