John Eni-Ibukun: Collaborative Work in the Nigerian Music Industry

John Eni-Ibukun, also known as June Sometimes, is a Nigerian artist, writer, and the head of curation on Audiomack. His work includes collaborations with a range of artists and projects that span multiple creative disciplines.

Eni-Ibukun contributed to the pan-African album Yamen Yamen by Drummr Africa, serving as A&R and providing creative direction for the project. The album featured artists such as SirBastien, Kibra, and Bash the Piper, bringing together musicians from different parts of Africa.

His debut album, Memories With Nostalgic Flaws, incorporates elements of music, poetry, and storytelling and includes collaborations with artists such as Ess Thee Legend and Chi WAV. The project reflects experiences growing up in Lagos during the 2000s.

Eni-Ibukun also worked on the project Luminous, collaborating with Berlin-based musician Garey Godson and Lagos-based digital artist Ebube Onoh. The project combined multiple artistic perspectives, including music and visual elements.

In addition to his creative work, Eni-Ibukun has held editorial roles in the industry, including serving as Editor-in-Chief at Drummr Africa. In this capacity, he has conducted interviews and published features with artists such as Tems, Yemi Alade, and Falana. His involvement in these projects highlights his engagement with both creative production and documentation within the Nigerian music scene.
