Sokoto Indigene Emerges Secretary-General Africa LPG Association

Zayyanu Tambari of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and Sokoto indigene, has emerged the Secretary General Africa Liquified Petroleum Gas Association. Yabo was elected shortly after the ARGUS Media Africa LPG conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

This was contained in a statement signed by one Sirajo Dalhatu Sifawa, made available to journalists in Sokoto on Saturday.

The statement said it was after consultations with stakeholders that Tambari was elected as the Secretary General of the Association while the Chief Executive Officer of Fire Corp Energy, Mr. Samson Muamba was elected its President alongside other executives.

According to the statement, the Association was set up to promote the growth and development of LPG sector for both domestic and industrial usage in Africa.

“The Association will bring together relevant government agencies, companies in LPG business, energy consulting firms, multinational development agencies supporting the growth of energy, energy journals and financial institutions in realising its objectives,” the statement read.

Tambari is a well known professional especially in the regulation of LPG sector in Nigeria. He is a trained Chemical Engineer from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has attended several courses within Nigeria and abroad in LPG operations in Germany, Turkey, France, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Tambari is also a member of several professional bodies which included Nigeria Gas Association, Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers and Polymer Institute of Nigeria.
