Olajide Olutuyi Throws Support Behind Governor Aiyedatiwa in Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primary

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) gears up for the gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State, Olajide Olutuyi, Executive Director of the Samuel Olutuyi Foundation and Convener of the Akoko Northwest Grassroot Movement, has thrown his support behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office as the Deputy Governor following the demise of Late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has garnered significant backing from within the party, with Olajide Olutuyi being the latest to endorse his candidacy.

In a statement released by Olutuyi, he highlighted Governor Aiyedatiwa’s experience and close association with his predecessor, Late Governor Akeredolu, as pivotal factors in his decision to throw his weight behind him. Olutuyi emphasized that Aiyedatiwa’s continuity of Akeredolu’s policies and his understanding of the state’s dynamics make him the best candidate for the APC primary election.

He pointed out the governor’s swift actions within his first 100 days in office, including the disbursement of over N1 billion in gratuities to retirees, the recruitment of thousands of teachers, and the hiring of hundreds of health workers.

“I am not one to support a candidate blindly,” Olutuyi remarked. “I looked at their demeanor, humility, compassion for the governed, and their intelligence, and I came to a conclusion based on all these.”

Olutuyi urged party members to remain united regardless of the primary election outcome and cautioned against any form of discord during the process. He stressed the importance of maintaining harmony within the party ranks to ensure a smooth and hitch free primary elections.

With Olajide Olutuyi’s endorsement, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy gains momentum, receiving a vote of confidence from grassroots leaders like Olutuyi. As the APC primary election approaches, all eyes remain on Ondo State, where Aiyedatiwa seeks to secure the party’s gubernatorial ticket and lead the state forward with the support of key stakeholders like Olutuyi.
