Nine Students Abducted by Gunmen in Delta Regain Freedom, Say Police

All nine students reportedly abducted by suspected armed men on the East-West Road in Delta State, have regained their freedoom, the police said late Monday night.

The unidentified kidnappers allegedly demanded a N10m ransom for the release of the abducted students.

They were said to be traveling in a Toyota Corolla Sienna vehicle coming from Calabar, Cross River State on Friday, when they they were intercepted and whisked away to an unknown direction, from the Evwreni axis of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

However, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed at about 11pm last night that all nine reportedly kidnapped students “have regained their freedoom” via  WhatsApp message to THISDAY in Asaba.
