Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District New Executives Take Oath of Allegiance

The newly elected executive officers of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District (ISD) Community in Lagos recently took an oath of allegiance. They pledged to work together and be dedicated to service, seeing their office as a rare opportunity to contribute to the progress of the district and the overall development of Akwa Ibom State.


During the swearing-in ceremony, special guest of honour and member representing Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Clement Jimbo, congratulated the newly inaugurated officials and urged them to leverage their competence and bring their wealth of experience and ideas together to meet the expectations of members.
Jimbo reminded the officials that they must exercise caution and due diligence when serving to ensure they are in line with the constitution and needs of the district community. He also emphasized the importance of the oath of office they had solemnly taken, which is of profound significance.


The chairman of the occasion, Barr. Mike Umonnan; Father of the Day, Dr. Udo Udo-Aka; president of Akwa Ibom Community, Lagos, Dr. Edet Ambang; Lagos Chapter Co-ordinator, MPM, Akparawa Otuekong Ubong Jackson; and the NPA Ports manager, Comrade Charles Okada, all congratulated the newly sworn-in members of the district community. They pledged their effective support and collaboration, gave them fatherly blessings, and urged them to see their office as a clarion call to serve and contribute to the development of the district community and Akwa Ibom State in general.


In his inaugural speech, the President of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Community, Lagos, Elder Samuel Usoro, expressed appreciation to God for making the day a reality. He pledged transparency, accountability, inclusive and strong governance, and stated that members’ voices would be heard and their concerns addressed. He also promised to enhance stakeholder relations and support for the 10 LGAs under the district in Lagos.
Usoro appealed to the Akwa Ibom governor, Pastor Umo Eno, to accommodate indigenes of the senatorial district community in Lagos in his skills acquisition programmes, business, entrepreneurial support schemes, empowerment/welfare programmes, education/scholarship schemes, consultancy/job opportunities, etc., as this gesture would go a long way to give them a sense of belonging.


Finally, those sworn in were: Elder Samuel Usoro, president; Apostle Dan Emmanuel Akpan, Vice President; Pastor Ukeme Edet, General Secretary; Mr. Aniefiok Sambo, Assistant General Secretary; Amb. Monday Nnah, Treasurer; Deacon Aniekan Ukpe, Financial Secretary; Comrade Isaac Jackson, Assistant Financial Secretary; Deacon Usendu Bassey, Public Relations Officer (PRO); Elder Emmanuel Bassey, Auditor; and Mr. Williams Mboho, Chief Welfare officer.

Others are Mrs. Celestina Uki, Women Leader; Mr. Unyime Alexander, Social Secretary; Mr. Inamakere Ikpoh, Youth Leader; and Barr. Silas Udoh, Legal Adviser.
The event’s highlights were the swearing-in ritual conducted by Eno Umoren Mbanugo of Legal View Chambers, the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the new executives, and award presentations to Hon. Clement Jimbo and others for their contributions to the development of their constituency, state, and nation as well, award of appreciation and recognition to Association of Oruk Anam Indigenes of Nigeria for members impressive attendance to meetings and activities in the year, 2023.
