GBfoods Empowers Children, Women in Makoko

Multinational culinary company, GBfoods has further demonstrated its commitment to societal improvement during its visit to Makoko community in Lagos, which was intended to transform lives. 

Prioritising education and financial freedom of dwellers of the community regarded as one of poorest in Nigeria, the organisation extended hand of love to children and women to support the economy of the society. 

Speaking, the Managing Director of GBfoods, Vincent Egbe, affirmed that education remained a key driver of wealth and development, adding that investment in children’s education and women would change economic narrative of the community. Part of the learning resources donated to the children were books, schoolbags, water bottles and food&water, amongst others. 

Receiving the company with warmth and cultural performance was Khan School, which was also a beneficiary of GBfoods gestures aimed to improve learning outcomes.  Support offered to the school included generator and salary support, amongst others.

The women in the community were equally presented with GBfoods flagship brands as a way to foster independence and self-sufficiency Egbe, reiterated that the gesture aligned with UN Development Goal 1 for poverty eradication.

He stressed that company places premium on community well-being, adding that donating essential resources and supporting sustainable development is the company’s way of creating stronger and self-sufficient communities.
