The emergence of Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa came as a surprise to some of the stakeholders in Ussa Local Government Area, when the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas announced her as the Commissioner nominee to represent the good people of Ussa in his cabinet, She didn’t plan or lobby for the position, it was a divine calling directly from the Almighty, It came as a surprise when her name was called upon to serve in Governor Kefas administration. Based on her commitment to work and track record in her field of specialization where she has contributed meaningfully to the growth of the institution where she was shopped from. She is the second female that will be appointed as Commissioner in Ussa. First, was Barrister Bethsheba Riki, from Fikyu community, Since the creation of Ussa, it’s has been male activities all through, The Governor in his wisdom made a fantastic decision by giving the female gender an opportunity to serve in his cabinet because he understood the power of a woman. Ussa is one of the local government that benefited with this female gender inclusiveness.
Globally, the woman gender contributes greatly in every field of endeavor they find themselves, also they can be trusted with power in terms of development and accountability, This cannot be over emphasized in any developed society, with the women on board the Kefas administration, it will help in strengthening and developing the state to a greater Height. It’s a rare opportunity taken and in line with other developed society around the globe. Also the Governor did extremely well by neglecting Ussa stakeholders when he asked them to come up with names, and while they are busy fighting themselves which name to present, The Governor was also busy searching for credible hands within Ussa community that will fit in his cabinet to represent the people of Ussa, taken them unaware to put a stop within the stakeholders. There is no doubt that are appointment is a round peg in a round hole.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Honorable Dr. Filister was born on 19th August 1968 to the family of late Evangelist Pa Daniel and Mrs Zilpah Kukwen in present Takum local government, Taraba state, She is from Lissam community in Ussa local government area of Taraba State, she started her early education at central Primary School Serti, where she completed her School leaving Certificate in 1980. She proceeded to Government Secondary School Yola in 1983 and also wrote her West Africa Examination Council at Government Girls Secondary School Yola in 1985. Dr. Filister Musa furthered her Education into the College of Preliminary Studies, Yola. After her completion, she Proceeded to the Federal University of Technology Yola in the year 1988 and graduated with a Bachelor of Technology, Botany (Hons) then did her mandatory National Youth service Corps in Ilorin, Kwara State in the year 1992, After which she obtained a Post Gradate Diploma in Education from the University of Benin Edo State in the year 2000, in year 2007 Applied Scholastics Workshop Leader International, Also in the year 2008 ICT Basic Skills at Chief Bola Ige Information Technology National Center for Women Development, (FCT) Abuja. While in the year 2012 Global Certificate of Technology Mastery. In 2015 M.Tech Biology Education at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, in the year 2021 Ph.D. Biology Education at the same Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola.
POSITIONS HELD
Before her appointment as the commissioner of social Justice and Reintegration, She is the Biology head of department at the School of undergraduate Studies College of Education Zing, an affiliated of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Kaduna State. Also she is the current Secretary of the Women fellowship for the Reformed Church of Christ for nations Jalingo Distrct,Taraba State. Also the current President of the Bege Women Group in Taraba State and closely working with the then former first lady of the state Barrister Anna Darius Dickson Ishaku to impact the lives of women and children in the state in the area of Gender Violence. She also served as the National public relation officer (PRO) for Women in college of Education (WICE) in two tenures and obtained a grant from TETFUND for the women and also that made the Journal publication (JOWICE) free in the year 2013. Honorable Dr. Filister Musa also presented 5 papers and polished 3 book Chapters and 9 Journals.

Dr. Felister Irarimam Musa, is Flexible, Reliable and possess excellent time keeping skills, she is an enthusiastic, self- motivated, responsible and hard working person, a matured team worker and adaptable to all challenging situations in her field of endeavor, she is able to work well self-own initiative and also like to keep a positive attitude anywhere she finds herself. She also love to promote culture and advancing using modern technology to showcase their potential heritage, she ensured that the mission and vision of the college of Education Zing in realizing their goals and objectives was achievable.
COUNTRIES VISITED
Dr. Filister visited some countries in the cause of her carrier, the countries visited are South Korea, Israel, Ghana and Benin Republic.
With all her wealth of experience in public sector, and as an Educationalist her background speak volume. Her appointment as Commissioner by the Executive Governor of the state is well-deserved, this will add a lot of innovation to the Taraba State government.
Recently, Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa attended the retreat organized by the state government to sharpen the minds of the participants on governance activities with her colleagues, the retreat was well attended by all government functionaries within the state.
Honorable Dr. Filister Musa is happily married with children and lots of other dependents.
