Buhari Leaves for EU-AU Summit in Abidjan Tuesday

President Muhammadu Buhari will this evening leave Nigeria for Abidjan, Cote d’voire, to participate in the 5th European Union-African Union (EU-AU) Summit holding today and wednesday.
A statement by the president’s media adviser, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the president would participate in working sessions on the theme: ‘Investing in the Youth for a Sustainable Development.’
The statement added that on the margins of the summit, he will also meet with a number of African Heads of State and their European Union counterparts.
It also said Buhari would during the summit, reiterate Nigeria’s readiness to work with African and European countries to address the challenges of both continents, such as peace and security.
“The Nigerian leader will attend the official luncheon to be hosted by the government of Cote d’Ivoire in honour of visiting Heads of State and Government delegations.
It said Heads of State of African countries and 28 European countries are slated to attend this high-level meeting.
The statement also said delegations from international organisations will also participate at the summit.
The governors of Akwa Ibom and Bauchi States and some ministers are among the officials that will accompany the president to the summit.
