Ejoor Promises to Blend Experience, Youth

COPA LAGOS

National Beach Football Coach, Adamu Ejoor, has promised to blend experience with youth in the forthcoming Copa Lagos competition.

Ejoor was speaking on the recent development in which the invited foreign coach, Angelo Shirinzi, has discovered fresh legs for the sport.

The coach stressed that the new players would fight for shirts to complement the efforts of the experienced ones.
“We cannot just discard the experienced players like that. We are going to give them a chance but I will work hard to achieve a good blend for Nigeria. I commend the organisers for this great initiative which is a big boost to beach football in our country.

“I only pray we have time to work with these players before the competition,” Ejoor said.
Schirinzi who led Tahiti to win silver at the last edition of beach football World Cup visited six centres in Lagos and said he was impressed with the talents he saw.

“I was amazed to see many talented players in Lagos. Over 300 of them were brought together and I picked 23 who will be prepared for about 10 days before the Club Challenge at Copa Lagos,” he said.
Managing Director of Kinetic Sports, organisers of COPA Lagos, Samson Adamu, is happy about the prospect of raising a new team for Nigeria.

“We want to ensure the competition gets better every year and to raise a solid team for the forthcoming event. We are also looking at a bigger picture beyond the three-day competition. We want to give some youths the opportunity they have been looking for to excel,” Adamu said.
The forthcoming Copa Lagos is slated to take place between December 8 and 10 at the Eko Atlantic.
