The signing of the new MoU coincided with the commencement of the 2017 Ofala which began with the Umatu Festival where the highly respected monarch performed the rites marking the end of the planting and starvation season and the beginning of the period of harvest and plenty for the people of the kingdom. Thereafter, the Obi goes into seclusion.

Achebe urged all Onitsha sons and daughters and the entire people of Anambra State to patronise Globacom, saying that was the only way they could show appreciation for the support the proudly Nigeria network had given to them over the years.
