Akpabio Reshuffles Senate Committees, Names Jimoh Ibrahim, Natasha, Ubah Chairmen

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday reshuffled the  committees of the upper chamber.

He named Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (APC-Ondo South) as  chairman of Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs

while Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was named  Chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content.

Akpabio made the announcement on Tuesday during plenary.

Other Chairmen of committees include, Senator Patrick Ndubueze (APC-Imo), Chairman Senate Committee on Steel Development;  Senator Shuaibu Lau (PDP-Taraba), Chairman, Committee on Tourism, and Senator  Binos Yaroe (PDP-Adamawa), Chairman, Committee on State and Local Government Affairs.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Atomic and Nuclear Energy is now Senator Sahabi Yau (APC-Zamfara) while Chairman Senate Committee on Youth and Community Engagement is Senator  Yemi Adaramodu (APC-Ekiti). Senator Kawu Sumaila (NNPP Kano), is Chairman, Committee on Sport Development;

Senator Olajide Ipinsagba (APC-Ondo), was name Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs while Senator Ogoshi Onawo (PDP-Nasarawa State) is now the Chairman, Committee on Art, Culture and Creative Economy.

Akpabio announced Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as the Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream and Senator Sampson Ekong as Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals Development.

Akpabio said the reshuffling of the committee leadership was for effectiveness and smooth running of the red chamber.
