Vice-President Kashim Shettima will on Tuesday meet with the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, at the opening of the World Food Prize Foundation’s Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa, USA.

The Borlaug Dialogue, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Media Assistant to the Vice-President, Stanley Nkwocha, brings together individuals from more than 65 countries to address cutting-edge issues related to global food security and nutrition.

This year’s theme is ‘Transforming Food Systems: A Global Action Agenda.’

The vice-president will use the platform to speak about Nigeria’s strong agricultural sector potential and push for commitments in achieving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandates and programmes for Nigeria’s agro-food sector.

Shettima will also deliver a keynote speech at the event’s plenary session on Tuesday, October 24 and later participate in a side event on the African Agriculture Dialogue on Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones.

On Thursday, October 26, the vice-president will take part in a fireside chat with the AfDB President, while he is also slated to meet with major stakeholders and investors across the United States after the event.
