Dangiwa Named 2021 Housing Finance Person of the Year

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Mr. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has been named the 2021 Housing Finance Person of the Year by the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN), organisers of the International Housing Awards.

The award was presented at the National Housing Awards Dinner, which held in Abuja
The award, presented to him by Mr. Festus Adebayo, President of the HDAN and convener of the Abuja International Housing Show, was in recognition of Dangiwa’s historic reform efforts to turnaround the FMBN and strengthen it as an institutional tool for affordable housing delivery to Nigerians within the low- and medium-income bracket.

Despite several challenges including a weak financial base of less than N5billion naira, Dangiwa has led his team to build and maintain an impressive trajectory of strong performance.

Noteworthy is the disbursement of a total of N169.8billion in housing loans within the last four years, representing a 111 per cent increase over the N152billion that was disbursed since the NHF scheme was established 25 years ago.

The FMBN MD also opened a new vista of innovative home loans that are designed to create a good fit between what the bank is offering and the income capacity of workers who subscribe to the NHF scheme.
