Billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote yesterday narrated his painful experience of watching his brother and Vice President of the Dangote Group, Sani Dangote die in hospital in the United States last Sunday.

Dangote, who spoke while receiving the National Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu who came on a condolence visit to his house in Kano, said on the sad day, doctors informed him and members of his family, including their mother, that Sani was going to die in about an hour.

He said they watched as the life-support machine was switched off, ticking time as Sani gave up the ghost.

According to him, it was most painful to be informed that his brother was going to die in an hour time, and he watched him die with the mother and the entire family.

Dangote further stated that his brother’s death “is a great lesson to the living” and urged people to do good to humanity because no one knows when death would come knocking.

Tinubu and his entourage landed Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), on a private jet, at about midday and they were warmly received by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, members of Ganduje’s cabinet and APC chieftains.

An unprecedented crowd also lined up at the airport, waving at the long convoy of the APC National Leader, a potential 2023 presidential aspirant.

Tinubu proceeded immediately to the residence of business mogul Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who is uncle to Aliko Dangote, at Koki quarters, within the city where he consoled him.

The APC national leader then headed to the residence of Aliko Dangote, at Dambazau Lane, off Lodge Road, Kano.

Tinubu condoled with Aliko and the entire family, adding that if money could buy death, Sani would have been alive today.
