APC Appeal Committee on Congress Receives No Petition in Kano

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Committee for Kano State said yesterday that it recognised the election conducted at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium that produced Mr. Abdullahi Abbas as the state chairman of the party.

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Tony Macfoy, told reporters yesterday in Kano that it received zero petitions during their stay in the state.

Macfoy said: “National body of the APC in Abuja, only mandated the committee to look into whatever crisis that might have occurred at the state congress election held at Indoor Stadium of Sani Abacha Stadium and nothing more.”

He explained that anything outside their mandate is not known to the law guiding the party.

“We have been here for the past three days to listen to such complaints and petitions, but after the three days, no petition or complaint was received from any members of the party relating to state congress election held at Indoor Stadium, Sani Abacha Stadium.

“I declared that the state congress election held at Indoor stadium of the Sani Abacha Stadium is authentic and in line with the rules and regulation of the national body of the party,” he said.

In a reaction to the emerging development, the splinter Chairman, Mr. Haruna Ahmad Danzago, said that “the complaint committee or petition panel committee are nothing but a bunch of impostors who conducted the same kangaroo wards local government APC congress election in Kano.

“The APC national headquarter, is yet to recognise anybody, but will do so very soon on the day they will give out certificates to genuine elected APC leader.

“I did not contest the election alone ,three other aspirants contested along with me unlike their own where only Abbas contested and was returned unopposed.

“No problem, when we reach the bridge Allah will show us the way to cross it.”
