The Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has declared that the state is set for the state congress of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ganduje said: “We are ready for the state Congress coming up on the 16th of October.”
He made the disclosure at the instance of the State Executive Council meeting, prior to its commencement, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, yesterday.
“The ward congresses took place. That was followed by the local government congresses. After the inauguration of the wards party leadership, we are now waiting for the inauguration of the local government leaders who were elected a few weeks back,” he explained, adding that “we are getting ready for the state congress. We are making all the necessary preparations for the state congress.”
Meanwhile, he directed all state commissioners and all advisers to attend the Independence Day Parade coming up on Friday, 1st October.
“Commissioner for Information, Mr. Muhammad Garba, is leading the committee for Independence Day celebration.
“I am also directing all commissioners and advisers to be there on Friday, during the Independence Day parade,” the governor directed.
