British-Nigerian Actress and Producer, Toyin Olabintan Reignites Nollywood

Toyin Olabintan is not resting on her oars to hit the ground harder in her dream profession. The British-Nigerian Producer cum actress is pulling all stops to be a better force in a burgeoning Nigerian movie industry.

Well loved and coveted by her Nigerian and international fans, Toyin became popular after she starred in the movie “Hard to Leave”. She began her acting career in 2019 and has not looked back ever since.

The Ekiti State-born multitalented actress is a graduate of Economics and Law from the prestigious University of Greenwich, London.

She also has a background in acting from renowned Identity School of Acting(IDSA).

Rather than taking up a job abroad, Toyin returned home to be part of Nollywood success. She gives her reason thus, “I am amazed at the accomplishment of Nollywood. Even with little support, the industry is globally recognized. I want to be part of that positive stories because they makes me proud to be a Nigerian. I was motivated into movies by director Dickson Iroegbu. I don’t know if he would remember but he once told me I have the looks of an actress, and inspired me to pursue a career in acting. Ten years down the line , those words still motivate me”.

Continuing, she said, “I started my journey as a producer after Mr Kunle Aderemi introduced me to Kayode Peters, a producer in Nollywood, I travelled to Nigeria afterwards to have talks with him , then we shot a movie together. He helped in producing one of my movies and even though I was the Executive Producer, it was a learning process for me.”

Toyin is gearing up for a new work. She has authored a book titled ‘Don’t get Jilted’. The book presently sells on Amazon and Okadabooks websites.
