Wrestling fans in Nigeria will on Monday have an opportunity of watching history being made as the first-ever WWE pay-per-view event featuring women superstars will be exclusively live on DStv.
The event, scheduled to take place in New York with all four women’s championship belts on the line, will be live on SuperSport 8 (channel 228) at Tuesday midnight and repeated in the evening at 6p.m. on SuperSport 9 (channel 229). GOtv viewers can catch the special event on Friday 2 November at 7:30p.m. on SuperSport Select 3 (channel 33).
The most anticipated bout of the night is between the Raw women’s champion, Ronda Rousey, as she takes on Nikki Bella, who is threatening a “Bellalution”.
The two combatants, who were once allies, would square-up in what will be a grudge bout, with Bella threatening her more prominent opponent.
Also on the card, SmackDown women’s champion, Becky Lynch, will defend her title against Charlotte Flair in a last woman standing match.
The “Irish Lass Kicker” and Flair heiress will do battle in the first-ever Last Woman Standing match at the historic event. This will be the third encounter between both fighters, with Flair winning the first when Lynch got herself intentionally disqualified, and the second ended in a brawl.
Other match-ups include NXT women’s champion Kairi up against Shayna Baszler; and a double tag team fight between Alexa Bliss and Mickie James versus Trish Stratus and Lita. There will also be a triple tag team bout between Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya vs The Riott Squad, consisting of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan.
Also lined up for the event is the final of the Mae Young Classic, as well as battle royale for a future title shot featuring the very best of talented youngsters in the sport.
