Bauchi State governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Bala Mohammed has urged aggrieved governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were shortchanged at the recent primary elections to join his campaign structure with a view to defeating the incumbent governor Mohammed Abubakar in 2019.
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who made the call on Sunday while inaugurating his campaign harmonisation committee explained that the committee was set up and charged with the responsibility of consoling those who lost primary elections in the party as well as wooing aggrieved members of other parties.
Mohammed also said the committee was constituted to work out modalities for the success of the party during the conduct of the next Year’s general elections.
Another term of reference of the committee according to Muhammad is to find lasting solution to the challenges militating against the development of PDP in the state.
The PDP Gubernatorial Candidate expressed confidence that with the calibre of experienced members of the committee, success would be achieved.
He assured people of the State especially Civil Servants that his administration will give special attention to the improvement of their well-being if given the opportunity.
Senator Bala Mohammed who said the committee is to submit its assignment before the 30th of this month, called on the party members to render their support for the success of the committee.
He noted that shortly after he emerged victorious in the recent PDP governorship primary election, he visited his contenders Senators Abdul Ningi and Adamu Gumba and solicited their support ahead of the 2019 general election.
Senator Mohammed promised that if elected, he would improve the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state whom he said were being maltreated by the present state government.
Responding, chairman of the committee and former senator representing Bauchi Central Bala Adamu Kariya commended the governorship candidate for inaugurating the committee, assuring that he would work towards uniting PDP members in the state so that the party could triumph in the next election.
