Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, (HoS), Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, has promised that government will soon clear the backlog of outstanding liabilities, including promotion arrears it was owing civil servants.
Oyo-Ita made the pledge yesterday at the Peer Review Mechanism (PRM) for Permanent Secretary in the federal civil service in Abuja.
Speaking at the event held at the Ministry of Defence, the HoS added the federal Ministry of Finance had set in motion the process of disbursement of arrears to some civil servants.
She said in working towards digitisation of record management, the civil service had been training staff, adding that the Ministry of Defence had received approval for structural upgrade.
Oyo- Ita, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence, Mrs. Nuratu Batagawara, said the re-introduced PRM among the permanent secretaries, would provide the much needed information, that would strengthen public policy implementation.
Some of the permanent secretaries, who spoke at the event, agreed on synergy between the nationâ€™s foreign and security policies.
