Chairman of Edo FA, Frank Ilaboya has declared that the fine start of Bendel Insurance in the NNL is coming courtesy of the massive support the club is getting from the Edo State government led by Godwin Obaseki.
Ilaboya while congratulating Insurance for remaining unbeaten after two weeks of action said the club has never had it so good.
“Gov Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu are simply wonderful. I must confess that Insurance has never had it so good. The state government not only re branded the club before the start of the season but has provided all that the club needs to go all the way this season. The kind of support that was mobilized for the away game against 3SC was unprecedented and the fact that the deputy governor himself led the team to Ibadan shows that the Edo State government means business.”
Ilaboya who is Owan West Local Government chairman charged the players and their technical crew to remain focused as the Journey to the elite division has just started.
“I urge the entire team to remain focused as that is the only way to get the job done and justify the support they are getting from the state government.”
Insurance it would be noted started the season at home beating Spartans of Lagos 3-0 in week. The Arsenal of Nigerian football as the club is popularly called last weekend held 3SC to a barren draw in Ibadan.
