Nwodo: Diaspora Igbo Group Condemns Attack, Urges Govt for Investigation

The weekend attack at the country home Ohaneze Ndigbo President, Nnia John Nwodo, has been condemned in complete term by the Umbrella Organization that represents the Apex National Igbo Organizations living in the diaspora, the Igbo World Assembly, IWA.

The Chairman of the group, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze in a world press conference at the weekend while consoling with the Nwodo family described the action of the arsonists as callous, and urged security operatives to get to work immediately so as to unravel those behind the wicked act.

“We are sad to hear the burning of the house of Ohanaeze chieftain. It is very unfortunate. It is an attack on Ndigbo. Security agencies should get to work and arrest the culprits. It will go a long way in serving as a lesson to others. We do not want another bloodshed. We do not want this kind of wicked act.

The country has been experiencing security issues and killings in many states. “This is criminal. Government should do something. Government should invest in security to safeguard the nation. Enough is enough on the killings of innocent Nigerians. Enough is enough in the destruction of property across the nation by unknown criminals”, IWA boss noted without mincing.

He called on Igbo extraction to be united for the challenges ahead, saying that it was time Ndigbo speak with one voice for the unity of South East.
