Nigerians have been advised to always patronise made in Nigeria products with a view to boosting the country’s economy, even as manufacturers of such goods are told to also ensure quality.

The advice was given on Thursday at the Development Exchange Centre (DEC), Bauchi, by the Director General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Osita Aboloma, at a two-day workshop organised for North-east and North-west zones to sensitise and increase awareness for the creation on quality and environmental management systems (ISO 9001 and 14001) for customers, importer, and exporters.

According to the DG, who was represented by the North-ast Zonal Coordinator, Umar Yakubu, it is mandatory for Nigerians to always go for made in Nigeria products for the betterment of the country’s economy.

He stated that there is an increase in global demand for quality products, environmental protection and control as a result of the negative impact of people’s daily activities.

“This workshop became imperative owing to the increase in global demand for quality products, environmental protection and control due to negative impact on the environment as a result of our daily activities,” he stated.
