The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO)‎ has vowed to mobilise support for President Muhammadu Buhari to re-contest and consolidate on his achievements in the fight against corruption and insecurity.

National coordinator of the organisation, Alhaji Dalladi Pasali disclosed this in Bauchi Saturday at the inauguration of state coordinators in the North-east.

He said BCO had, after a countrywide survey, been convinced that president Muhammadu Buhari has substantially fulfilled some of his campaign promises in the fight against corruption and insecurity despite challenges.

Pasali added that the association will set up structures to complement those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidential Campaign Team to mobilise Nigerians to vote for the president in 2019.

“The scope of activities of the Buhari Campaign Organisation ‎will up to 16th February, 2019 be fully targeted on the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari,” the group said.

The National coordinator informed that BCO will also highlight the achievements of President Buhari-led APC administration in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which will be compiled and published.

He added that the organisation will also embark on enlightenment and mobilisation at the grassroots on voter education and government programmes.

In his welcome address, the BCO North East coordinator‎, Alhaji Abiso Kabiru said that, the North-east region will remain the political base of president Muhammadu Buhari and its people will vote for the president to ensure his victory in 2019.

He said the North-east has benefitted a lot especially in the improvement of security in the region which made it possible for many displaced persons to return to their towns and villages.

On his part, a Gombe state APC governorship ‎hopeful, Alhaji Habu Mu’azu said Buhari supporters will strengthen their effort to ensure his re-election in 2019.

He said all efforts are being made to build on the already existing ‎popularity and goodwill of the president which he said was the result of his leadership qualities and personal integrity to get him re-elected.

He advised politicians that are bent on tarnishing the image of the president to desist from their campaign of calumny, saying that their futile negative campaigns will backfire and end their political career.

Mu’azu noted that most of the politicians opposing the president’s policies especially members of the National Assembly were elected based on President Buhari’s popularity.

Officials of the organisation from Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe attended the meeting.
