Former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari was responsible for the removal of APC Chairman in Kano, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa.

Kwankwaso, the senator representing Kano Central district, told reporters on Saturday in Kano through his former commissioner of state Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam that the recent appointment of Engineer Bashir Karaye as the authentic Chairman of the party in the state was masterminded by the presidency.

He also insisted that the Kwankwasiyya group would not tolerate what he called flagrant disregard of APC rules and regulations.

Kwankwaso’s outcry subsequent upon a letter issued and signed by the National Secretary of APC confirming Karaye as acting APC Chairman in Kano; the anointed candidate of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who took over from Mr. Abdullahi Abbas who resigned his appointment few days ago.

Abdulsalam claimed that Doguwa is the authentic Chairman of the party in the state, and called on the national leadership to reverse the announcement and tell the world of their reversed decision.

“The removal of our loyalist as the Chairman and replacement with the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje loyalist is unconstitutional and against the rules and regulations of APC in Nigeria, and therefore we reject such decision.

“The Presidency has instructed for the removal of Doguwa as the party Chairman in Kano, and we describe such act as siding with the other faction of the party”, he alleged.

Abdulsalam also alleged that, “Some of our loyalists holding position in the party across all the 44 Local Government Areas of the state were removed. It was our thought that gone was the era of impunity and total disregard for rules and regulations, but regrettably to our utmost dismay the thoughts have been proven wrong with this development”.

“We have putting all our efforts to see whatever negative is happening to our party in the state, but the efforts proved abortive as a result of non-compliance of the state government.

He explained that the members of Kwankwasiyya movement would continue to remain loyal to the party, adding that they have concluded arrangements to participate in the upcoming Local Government election in the state.

According to him, all necessary process has been followed by its leadership to present their candidates for the election to the State’s Electoral Commission.
