Peugeot 301 has won, for the second successive year, the Nigerian Car-Of-The-Year (COTY) Award of the Nigeria Auto journalists.

The highly impressive award night ceremony, which took place at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos, recently, saw the 301 Midlife beat its other rivals the Nissan Almera and Kia Rio to clinch the prestigious award.

Peugeot 301 Midlife was announced the winner in a night of suspense, glitz and razzmatazz and which had in attendance industry bigwigs, stakeholders and major automobile dealers.

The award-winning Peugeot 301 Midlife sedan is an upgrade version of Peugeot 301 that won the same award last year. The competitively priced affordable and locally assembled sedan with trappings of comfort and safety is a blend of contemporary looks, reliability, quality and exceptional value adoptable to Nigeria terrain. The Peugeot 301, which is now one the most preferred cars in the market, is fitted with most significant improvement in engine (Pure Tech Engine) earlier this year. The Nigeria Auto Journalists Award is the local version of the traditional global automotive industry award conducted by the motoring journalists in different countries and regional markets of the world to recognise the achievements of industry operators in different categories and across segments and vehicle categories.

In Nigeria, the award is conducted through exhaustive criteria by a jury of leading automotive journalists in the country. It is awarded by the Nigerian Auto Journalist Association (NAJA) to vehicles assembled and/or imported into Nigeria.

There were other categories of Awards and Recognitions of auto and allied auto accessories like tyres, among others.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of PAN Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Boyi attributed the success of Peugeot 301 Midlife to the brand heritage of quality and value, in addition to his team’s commitment to international standards and adherence to world best practices.

He also commended NAJA for organising a very credible event.
