Lagos Police Intercepts Six Vehicles Carrying Contraband Goods

The Lagos Police command has intercepted six vehicles and arrested three suspected smugglers carrying contraband goods including 220 bags of rice and several cartons of frozen chickens and turkey on Daleko bridge Mushin Isolo, Lagos.

The Police Public Relations Officers, SP Chike Oti said that the vehicles were intercepted by team of police men led by the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Akinbayo Olasoji while driving one-way on the Daleko bridge, Mushin Isolo.

He said the seized vehicles included six vehicles. While four vehicles carried 220 bags of rice, the other two had several cartons of frozen chicken and turkey.

According to Oti, three suspects were arrested, while others escaped.

The PR said the CP imohimi Edgal, has warned all those smugglers sabotaging the country’s economy. “Mushin is a no-go area. If they have been doing it before, ware taking a stand against it. The CP is serious about the enforcement of the law of this country and the enforcement of the constitution.”

For further prosecution, the police handed over the suspects and the seized exhibits to the Nigerian Custom. “This arrest is not for the offence of one-way but for smuggling. This will serve as a deterrent to others that Area D and the Lagos police is no-nonsense area in taking active measures and protecting the state.”
