COPA Lagos, the annual beach soccer tournament organised by Kinetic Sports has announced the participation of the Spanish Beach Soccer team at this yearâ€™s tournament scheduled to hold between December 8 and 10, 2017 at Eko Atlantic City.
This is the first time the Spanish side will be coming to Africa and most importantly Nigeria.
Coach JoaquÃn Alonso and his team will be gracing COPA Lagos 2017 alongside other international teams that will be confirmed subsequently.
The Spanish National Beach Soccer side coming to COPA Lagos 2017 comes with no small pedigree; they have made 14 Beach Soccer World Cup appearances, runners-up in the same competition in 2003, 2004 and 2013 respectively.
They are known by different monikers such as La Furia Roja (The Red Fury), Los Hispanos (The Hispanos), and La Roja (The Red [One].
Every edition of COPA Lagos brings a unique offering. Asides the regular feature of sport, music, dance, fashion, fansâ€™ zone and celebrity entertainment, this year will have the first-ever Female Celebrity Match.
According to the eventâ€™s organisers, this yearâ€™s edition promises to be a more engaging and fun filled experience for beach soccer lovers.
