Invest More on Education, Entrepreneurship, Says AUN President

The President of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Dr Dawn Dekle, has urged Nigerians to invest more on education and entrepreneurship so as to aid the country’s challenges to creating jobs opportunities for the youths.

Dekle disclosed this at an interactive session with journalists in Yola, noting that if Nigeria invests in education and entrepreneurship, the country would leapfrog and out-lead the world and take its rightful place on the global stage.

“Investing in educating the youth of a nation, females alongside males at equal rates, such that the foundation is strong as steel, is a far better investment in the future of Nigeria than rehabilitating a generation of broken and shattered women and men.

“It has been said that education is expensive, but lack of education is even more expensive, and this could not be more valid than in Nigeria,” she said.

The newly appointed AUN president, who assumed duty three months ago, explained that the reason why she came to Nigeria was because she wants to make a difference and seek great things for Nigerians in the educational sector.
