Nigeria’s Unity Remains Sacrosanct, Says Ugwuanyi

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday declared that the Nigerian unity remains sacrosanct, stressing however that Nigerians deserved to be treated justly and fairly irrespective of ethnic or religious leanings.  The governor, who addressed a crowd at the Michael Okpara Square, venue of the 57th Independence Anniversary celebration in Enugu, noted that despite the challenges facing the country, its future remained bright.  The governor spoke as the Director of Catholic Institute for Development, Justice a and Peace (CIDJAP), Monsignor Obiora Ike, asked the federal government to heed to calls for the restructuring of the country, adding: “Restructuring is the language of equity, justice and fairness.”
