Anchor Insurance Company Limited, a Non-Life insurance specialist, company has launched new employee protecting insurance product tagged ‘Anchor Loss of Employment’ Insurance scheme(AnchorLoEIS) for Nigerian employees.
The product, which according to the company has been making impressive sales before the official launch, is popularly referred to as AnchorLoEIS.
Anchor Insurance Head, Brand & Corporate services JamiuOsoba, said the product, was launched at admiration of captain of industries, bank chiefs, co-operative unions, insurance practitioners, insurance brokers, employers of labour, employees and the insuring public.
Speaking during the launch, Chairman, Board of Anchor Insurance,Dr. Elijah Akpan, stated that Anchor Insurance is well known for its innovation and creativity in providing tailored made insurance products to the yearnings of the insuring public.
“In doing this, we have equally partnered and collaborate with some forward looking organisations to develop a uniquely and refreshingly brand new product for our company and the Insurance industry.
“Today we have an important opportunity and a need to address a real kitchen table issue for families all across this country. We have an opportunity and a responsibility to innovate and create an insurance scheme to protect employees employment income and in doing so to provide a measure of financial stability to millions of Nigerians who may be laid off in the most difficult economic time.
“We have the opportunity and the responsibility as an organisation to provide peace of mind to families who may be left in the ditch without a job and nowhere else to turn toâ€, he stated.
In her opening remarks, the chairperson of the occasion, Mrs. Nike Akande, who is also the President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed the guests that the Chamber has over the last couple of years collaborated with insurance sector to promote and advocate for the best policies and practice that would be beneficial to the insuring public and our economy at large.
On Anchor Insurance product ,she said, “Anchor loss of employment insurance scheme is a welcome development as it seeks to protect employees from unforseen circumstances especially as it relates to job losses. This initiative is commendable and will go a long way to provide succor and wide cover for employees that are vulnerable and also stabilise the economic wellbeing of employees and indeed the country.â€
