Ogun SSG resignation rumour didn't emanate from me, says Adediran

A public affairs analyst and blogger in Ogun State, Mr. Ojo Emmanuel Adediran has accused the Ogun State government and its officials of an attempt to set him up and get him arrested for spreading and fabricating false information against the state due to his unflinching support for the governorship candidacy of Senator Solomon Adeola popularly referred to as YAYI.

In a statement made available to THISDAY yesterday, Ojo said that Ogun State Government own media houses attached his photograph to a name that isn’t his, alleging that he made a post that the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Taiwo Adeoluwa (SSG) had resigned.

According to him, it is outright falsehood aimed at tarnishing his image and maligning his personality adding that the news didn’t emanate from him neither did it appeared on any of his social media timelines.

The statement reads in part: “They are at it again. I am not responsible for the rumour that the SSG has resigned yet the Ogun State owned media are attaching my photographs to a fictitious name. The general public is aware that I once had an information dissemination issue with the state government which was resolved by the court of law.

“I am not unaware that this attempted set up is as a result of my support and propagation of the candidacy of Senator Solomon Adeola for 2019 and because this is not going down well with some highly placed people in government doesn’t mean anyone should resort to blackmailing and threats to slow me down”.

Adediran added that he had on many occasions received threats of government cutting him to size from known government appointees and their social media recruits. “They threatened to achieve that through the media, police and judiciary. Such threats have been extended to my mother at home.

“I am a noble and responsible citizen going about my life without any form of illegality against constituted authority. The records are there for all to see and I won’t fold my hands and watch my hard earned integrity soiled by any government personality at any level.”

However, THISDAY reached an official of the state government who preferred anonymity and he wondered why Adediran should be bothered if he wasn’t responsible for the rumour. According to him, “The SSG has debunked the rumour and responded that he didn’t resign and that he is working.”
