FG, UAE Firm Sign MoU for Purchase of Mi-35 Helicopters

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based firm, Peel Aston Global Free Zone Company, for the purchase of Mi-35M Russian helicopters.

The Minister of Defence, Brig-Gen. Muhammad Mansur Dan-Ali (rtd) signed the MoU on behalf of the government , while the Director, Peel Aston GFZC, Mr. Khomeini Bukhari, who was accompanied by the Nigerian representative, signed for the company.

Bukhari in a statement on Friday in Abuja, quoted the minister as saying that the government planned to buy more Mi-35M Russian Heliycopters in addition to the two it had purchased.

“The Minister appreciated the visit of the company and its Director, Mr.Khomeini Bukhari along with his Nigerian representatives and expressed his desire to work with them in partnership in the areas of defence,” the statement read.
