Niger Delta Avengers: We are Not Intimidated by Arepo Air Raids

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has dismissed the military exploits in the last one week in Arepo, a boundary riverine community between Lagos and Ogun States, and challenged the military to show the public the “so-called militants” killed during the air strikes.

A statement by its spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo, said it would not be intimidated by the military with its “scrap jet bombers.”

The militant group, which has claimed responsibility for attacks on oil facilities in the Niger Delta, broke its silence after a lull in its activities in the oil rich region, warning the Nigerian military that it was not intimidated by its exploits in the Arepo air raids in Lagos and Ogun States.

According to the statement titled: ‘We are not Intimidated,’ the militant group said the military was playing war games on illegal bunkering camps and showed videos of it exploits, which it maintained were unprofessional.

“The Nigeria military is playing some war games on some illegal bunkering camps and showing videos of how they carried out the bombardment.

“That is so unprofessional; don’t think they can intimidate the NDA with those scarp jet bombers,” it said.
The militant group maintained that no amount of jet bombers deployed would deter it from liberating its people through the ongoing struggle.
It declared: “They can deploy fourth generation jet bombers, but that will not stop us from fighting for our people.”

The militant group challenged the military to share with the public the militants killed in the so-called strikes, adding: “We are very sure they won’t share the images of militants killed because none was killed except innocent women and children.”
The group maintained its call for the restructuring of the country, noting that the struggle has gone beyond the NDA.

“What we are saying is the country should be restructured. The call for restructuring of Nigeria has gone beyond the NDA. The only group of persons against the restructuring is the PresidentialVilla,” the militant group said.
It urged the federal government to listen to the voice of its citizens instead of ignoring them.
