El- Rufai Sets Up Committee to Study Report of Panel on Shiite – Army Clash

The Kaduna state government has constituted a committee to study the report of the judicial commission of inquiry on the December 12-14, 2015 clash between the Islamic Movement in Nigeria ( IMN ) also known as Shiite and the Nigerian Army in Zaria and come up with a draft of the white paper.

The judicial commission, which was headed by Justice Muhammed Lawal Garba submitted its report to Governor Nasir El-Rufai recently.

The governor had, while receiving the report, promised that the government will study the recommendation and issue a white paper on the recommendations of the panel.

The nine-member White Paper Drafting Committee, according to a statement by the Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, is headed by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Mansur.

Other members are Hauwa U. Umar, Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Environmen, Bari’atu Yusuf Mohammed, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport,
Kaduna, Ibrahim Sambo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government, Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani
Permanent Secretary Cabinet Affairs and Special Services, Aisha Kumbo Mohammed, Permanent Secretary, Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Ambisa and Adze Jonah Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission.

According to the statement, the committee which had already commenced work is expected to submit a draft of the white paper within two weeks.
