The All Progressives Congress (APC) appears set to endorse the emergence of Mr. Godwin Obaseki as its candidate for the September 10th Edo governorship election.
The victory of Obaseki at the party’s primaries had been dogged by controversy and petitions, thus leading to setting up of the appeal committee led by Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele to investigate the complaints.
Two of the aspirants, Kenneth Imasuagbon and Chris Ogienwonyi, had appealed the outcome of the primary which returned Obaseki as winner, alleging that there were many irregularities and manipulation of the process.
But as the appeal panel came on Wednesday to submit its report to the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, there were indications that issues raised by the petitioners may have been sorted out and amicably resolved.
