VC: One-third of Adeleke Varsity Students on Scholarship

The management of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State has disclosed that one-third of its students are on scholarship.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwole Amusan, who disclosed this in a chat with journalists at the campus recently, said the institution has been made easier for students with the option of four installment payment, maintaining that “it was a rare feat in the history of any private university in Nigeria.”

He added that the average of N590,000 fee paid in the institution includes the cost of lodging and feeding for “at least two meals per day. Our new hostels are acclaimed the best so far with en-suite rooms, each room with its own toilet and bathroom.

“The founder of the university has been funding indigent students and awarding scholarships to many students of diverse background since 1996. The idea of this scholarship culminated into founding Adeleke University.

“Up till date, the scholarships being offered through Springtime Development Foundation continues and fees of all students in the university are subsidised by various percentages, partially and some enjoyed as much as 100 per cent sponsorship.”
He said the five-year-old university has graduated top national leaders with serious efforts on research that can benefit the country.

“Anti-oxidant and Hepatoprotective potential of lemon juice and sorghum ogi (lemon ogi) mixture against paracetamol induced liver damage in rat was carried out in the Faculty of Science among many other ongoing researches in diverse fields.”

He stated that the university enjoys a good relationship with the indigenes, adding that religious tolerance has been established.
