Business leaders, founders, chief executives and senior executives gathered in Abuja for the third edition of the Business Clinic, a mid-year business performance and review workshop organised by the Business Structure Leadership & Management Academy (BUSLMA).

The one-day executive workshop focused on helping business owners assess their first-half performance, strengthen internal systems, improve profitability and reposition their organisations for stronger execution in the second half of 2026.

Speaking at the event, BUSLMA Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant, Abraham Ofure Orukpe, said a mid-year review is a critical leadership exercise that enables organisations to identify operational gaps, improve accountability and make strategic adjustments before year-end.

“The mid-year business review is not the time for assumptions. It is the time for honest review, strategic correction and disciplined execution,” Orukpe said. “Every CEO must ask difficult questions about revenue performance, cash flow, sales conversion, staff accountability, operational efficiency and what must change before the year closes.”

He noted that the current business environment requires stronger financial discipline, effective leadership systems and data-driven decision-making to sustain growth amid economic uncertainties.

The workshop featured sessions on finance and taxation, sales and marketing, people and performance management, artificial intelligence and operations, as well as tax law. Participants also received practical guidance on improving revenue management, operational efficiency, leadership accountability and business governance.

Industry experts, including human resources consultant Zachs Itodo, AI and business growth consultant Fii Stephen Michael, and tax consultant Terhemba Tsepav, facilitated technical sessions during the programme.

Participants described the workshop as timely, citing its practical approach to addressing business challenges.

Chief Executive Officer of a real estate company, Oluwaseyi Micheal, said the programme provided valuable insights into revenue management, customer acquisition, financial controls and team accountability.

According to her, the workshop helped business owners identify areas requiring stronger organisational structures, clearer key performance indicators and improved execution.

Also speaking, logistics entrepreneur John Bassey said the session on artificial intelligence and operations highlighted practical ways to reduce process inefficiencies, improve reporting systems and strengthen operational control.

For event management consultant Chioma Emeka, the programme offered practical strategies for improving service delivery, staff productivity, customer experience and business visibility.

BUSLMA said its Business Clinic platform is designed to equip entrepreneurs and business executives with practical frameworks for profitability, operational excellence, governance and sustainable growth.

The academy provides management consulting, corporate training, executive coaching and business advisory services for organisations across different sectors, with a focus on strengthening business structures and leadership capacity.
