Aina Bridges Music, Theatre, Healthcare in a Growing Creative Career
Nigerian creative professional Ayobami Aina, popularly known as Ayo, is steadily establishing himself as a versatile force in music and theatre, building a career that seamlessly blends artistic expression with public service in the United Kingdom.
With a journey that began in church, where he discovered his passion for acting, singing and choreography, Ayo has evolved into a multidisciplinary creative whose work spans stage performance, music production, theatre management and technical production.
Over the years, he has remained committed to developing his craft, embracing opportunities that have positioned him within both the Nigerian and British creative landscapes.
His first major step into the music industry came in 2012 with the release of his debut song alongside a group of friends.
While studying at the University of Lagos, he continued to refine his artistic abilities, combining his academic pursuits with active participation in theatre productions and live performances that laid the foundation for his professional career.
Today, Ayo’s theatre résumé includes more than 15 productions in diverse capacities, including actor, director, stage manager, assistant stage manager and props manager.
His broad experience reflects an understanding of theatre that extends beyond performance to encompass the technical and managerial disciplines that sustain successful productions.
His dedication has earned him opportunities to collaborate with respected theatre practitioners such as Anne Neville, Alex Marker and Daniel Martin.
In music, he has also worked with internationally recognised British producer Anthony Adams, while maintaining creative partnerships with Nigerian producers Paul Emmanuel and IFE MOJ, acclaimed sound engineer SoundMindPro, and artists including Sydney, Timilehin Idowu and Paul Oluwapelumi.
Ayo is currently a member of Questors Theatre in the United Kingdom, where he has contributed to productions including Labour of Love, Everlasting Cake and The Curious Incident of the Cat in the Playhouse.
Across these productions, he has served as a cast member, assistant stage manager and band member, demonstrating the versatility that has become a defining feature of his career.
His responsibilities within the theatre continue to expand. He is scheduled to join the production teams for The Lover and the Slight Ache and Romeo and Juliet, where he will contribute to set design, further broadening his experience across different aspects of theatrical production.
A significant milestone came on July 19, 2026, when he served as Stage Manager for the musical theatre production Worship in Chaos.
The role required overseeing rehearsals, coordinating backstage operations and managing the technical execution of the production, underscoring his growing leadership within the theatre community.
Alongside his theatre work, Ayo has continued to build an impressive music catalogue. Since his debut release, he has released seven songs, comprising four singles and an extended play (EP) launched in December 2025.
His eighth single is scheduled for release in August 2026, while another collaboration with Anthony Adams is already in development.
His music has continued to gain international traction, attracting listeners in more than 14 countries on Spotify, with London emerging as one of his strongest streaming markets.
He has also performed at events across London, Grimsby and other parts of the United Kingdom, steadily expanding his audience through live performances.
Beyond the creative industry, Ayo serves as an Emergency Medical Advisor with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB), balancing the demands of emergency healthcare with an active career in music and theatre.
His ability to excel in both fields reflects a disciplined approach to professional growth and service.
For Ayo, success has been defined less by rapid recognition than by consistency and continuous improvement.
Each production, recording and collaboration has contributed to a career built on versatility, professionalism and a commitment to excellence.
As he prepares for new music releases, theatre productions and international collaborations, Ayo continues to strengthen his profile as one of a new generation of Nigerian creatives making their mark beyond the country’s borders.
His story is one of purposeful growth, demonstrating how talent, discipline and resilience can create opportunities across multiple creative and professional landscapes.
