The Managing Director praised the Chairman of NCL, Dr Abubakar Jimoh and his Management Team for their ingenuity, dedication and commitment to the Compendium Project and other endeavours promoting and projecting positively the Tinubu administration.
Speaking earlier at the Signing ceremony, Dr Jimoh disclosed that the manifold benefits of the Compendium include unhealthy practice of defacing public facilities with Campaign Posters, curtailment of vote buying by Politicians and also helps Electorates to vote wisely on the basis of track records of Candidates rather than pecuniary, religious and ethnic considerations.
He explained that apart from the hard copy, the Compendium will be uploaded on both NAN and NCL Websites to enable Voters easily access information on the Manifestos and Campaign Promises of various Candidates.
According to him, both Organisations ( NAN and NCL) will solicit the endorsement and support of the Leadership of various political parties and Independent National Election Commission ( INEC).
His Words: ” one of the major drawbacks of our quest for entrenchment of democracy and good governance is the absence of well articulated single publication that serves as veritable reference document for Nigerian Voters to make wise and well informed choices during elections .”
Dr Jimoh commended the innovative and dynamic leadership of Malam Ali for repositioning NAN for efficient service delivery while expressing optimism that the Compendium will obliterate the conventional practice of reckless display of Campaign Posters in Public Places, political thuggery, vote buying and other vices during electioneering Campaigns.
