FROM COMMUNITY LEADER TO GLOBAL BUILDER: AYODELE MOMODU’S JOURNEY OF PURPOSE
By Tolulope Oke
Born in Ilorin, Kwara State, Ayodele Momodu moved straight to Ijora‑Oloye, Lagos, right after secondary school to learn the workings of commerce. But it was within the Apapa community that his true purpose took shape. At that time, nearly 90 % of young people believed formal education offered little value — a trend Ayodele refused to accept. He gathered like‑minded peers to rewrite that story: among them Abiodun Olayiwola, Toyin Ojora, Adewale Ojora, Mojishola Ojora‑Meranda — now Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly — Ganiyu Akanni, and Taiwo Alesinloye.
He began his leadership journey as a member of the Apapa Youth Council under Chairman Rafiu Babatunde Odunuga, before rising to lead the Ijora‑Oloye Youth Movement. When political interests began to cloud the Council’s core mission, he co‑founded the Apapa Concerned Youth Movement, later serving as President. Under his direction, the organisation turned advocacy into action: quizzes, debates, and merit awards became regular events, while scholarships and learning support drew many young people back to the classroom. He also set up Best Vision Tutors inside Holy Trinity Primary School on Lagos Island — a small coaching hub that grew steadily into Best Vision Academy, an enduring centre of excellence.
A new chapter opened when he relocated to the United Kingdom. There, he built a thriving family and expanded his academic foundation, first at Newham College, East London, before advancing to read Law at South Bank University. Even abroad, his drive to unite and empower never faded. He established Home of Music, an entertainment enterprise that became one of East London’s most respected recording studios in Forest Gate — clear proof of his ability to succeed across different industries.
Today, Ayodele Momodu channels decades of leadership and vision into real estate as Founder of Pillar Point Homes, operating seamlessly between the UK and Nigeria. His guiding vision is bold and clear:
“To redefine the standard of real estate in Nigeria — creating the nation’s most complete, self‑sustaining communities where quality of life is guaranteed, healthcare is accessible, quality education, and every family enjoys a prosperous, peaceful future right where they live.”
Every project he develops reflects the same mission that shaped his early years: creating secure, thoughtfully designed environments anchored on three pillars — Healthcare, Education, and True Ownership. From tutoring children on Lagos Island to delivering landmark communities such as Araromi Signature, Ayodele Momodu demonstrates a powerful truth: true success is never measured only by what you build — but by how many lives you lift along the way.
