Ladega commissions 500KVA transformer, restores power to Ikorodu community

Residents of Imede/Jaladugbo in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State have regained electricity supply following the commissioning of a 500KVA transformer facilitated by the council chairman, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, Akeem Mustapha, the transformer was officially commissioned on Wednesday after its installation was completed in line with the required technical and regulatory procedures.

The statement noted that the transformer, delivered to the community on March 16, restored power to the area after a prolonged outage, bringing relief to residents and business owners.

It added that the intervention followed engagements between Ladega and residents on January 14, 2026, during which the community’s electricity challenge was presented to the council chairman.

The commissioning was attended by the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque, Shaykh Yahya Olorunoshebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi; the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, DCNS Busola Isikalu; representatives of Community Development Associations and other stakeholders.

Residents were said to have commended the intervention, describing it as a timely response to a longstanding need.

The statement added that the project reflects the council’s commitment to grassroots development and aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the provision of critical infrastructure.
