Women of Glory Foundation to Mark 10th Anniversary with Gala, Award Ceremony in Abuja
Plans have been concluded for the 10th anniversary celebration of Women of Glory Foundation, a women-focused non-governmental organisation committed to community development and empowerment initiatives across Nigeria.
The anniversary event, scheduled for June 6 at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, will feature a Gala and Award Night designed to celebrate the organisation’s decade-long impact on underserved communities.
Themed, “A Decade of Impact: Celebrating Legacy, Building the Future,” the ceremony will provide an opportunity for the foundation to reflect on ten years of humanitarian service, empowerment programmes, and social interventions targeted at improving lives and strengthening communities.
In a statement signed by the Founder, Dr. Nneka Nzewi the foundation expressed excitement over the milestone, describing the past decade as a journey of transformation, hope, and sustainable impact.
According to her, what began as a simple vision for community upliftment has grown into a formidable platform for social change and grassroots empowerment.
“Our journey over the last decade has been defined by a relentless commitment to multifaceted empowerment. From supporting students in pursuit of academic excellence to equipping women with vocational skills such as tailoring and textile production, our modest contributions are reflected in the countless lives we have touched,” she stated.
She added that the organisation has also invested in youth and sports development through the donation of sporting equipment to young athletes, helping to nurture future talents and encourage community participation in sports.
Dr. Nzewi noted that the anniversary gala would go beyond celebration and fundraising, serving as a platform to showcase inspiring stories of lives transformed through the foundation’s interventions over the years.
“The gala serves as a living gallery of success stories, offering a compelling narrative of lives positively impacted by the foundation’s programmes and interventions,” she added.
She further disclosed that the event is expected to attract an array of distinguished guests, including high-profile leaders, philanthropists, development partners, civic actors, and grassroots advocates.
A major highlight of the evening will be the presentation of awards to outstanding individuals and organisations that have supported the foundation’s mission and contributed significantly to its achievements over the years.
Award categories include Community Impact Award, Women Empowerment Champion Award, Humanitarian Service Award, Outstanding Partner Award, Lifetime Impact Award, Corporate Social Impact Award, and Community Leadership Award.
According to the statement, the awards are aimed at recognising individuals and institutions whose contributions have strengthened the foundation’s growth and reinforced the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful social development.
The organisation also assured stakeholders and invited guests of an enriching and memorable evening, adding that proceeds generated from the event would be channelled towards empowering small business owners across communities in Nigeria, particularly through the construction of business hubs and market support facilities for entrepreneurs.
