New Partnership Targets Nigeria’s $15 billion Creative Sector

Nigeria is intensifying its efforts to claim a larger stake in the $2 trillion global creative economy through a strategic new alliance between the Louis Awode Foundation (LAF) and The Archers. This collaboration aims to bridge the opportunity gap for young Nigerians and underserved communities, tapping into a domestic sector that PwC now values at nearly $15 billion.
With the industry already supporting over four million livelihoods nationwide, experts believe this sector could generate an additional three million jobs by 2030.
Louis Awode, the Founder, LAF, views the country’s expanding creative ecosystem as a primary engine for entrepreneurship.
He noted that the partnership is anchored in a shared mission of education and inclusive development. “This is more than a partnership. This alliance represents a shared vision for sustainable impact, one that prioritises compassion, empowerment and collaboration as drivers of change. As both organisations work together, the focus remains clear: building stronger communities and creating opportunities for individuals, especially children, to learn, grow and thrive,” Awode said.
The foundation has evolved into a dedicated platform for breaking social barriers, and this new tie-up with The Archers is expected to use media and storytelling to scale its reach. A central pillar of this collaboration is the “Clothe-A-Child Initiative,” a programme designed to provide essential learning resources and improve the educational environment for 300 pupils across public schools in Lagos and Ogun states. By focusing on these grassroots levels, the partners hope to foster the next generation of creative talent.
Michael Olabode, Director ,Brand Experience ,The Archers, described the move as a natural progression for his organisation’s focus on youth development. He emphasised that the partnership allows them to move beyond traditional entertainment into the realm of community empowerment. “We are passionate about building engaging platforms for students, and aligning with the Louis Awode Foundation allows us to extend that impact beyond entertainment into empowerment and community development,” Olabode stated.
He further noted that the alliance provides the foundation with “access to a broader youth audience, creating more touchpoints for engagement, awareness and impact.”
Favour Marcus, LAF’s Administrative, Operational, and Digital Support Lead, highlighted that The Archers will leverage their expertise to mobilise volunteers and bring the stories of beneficiaries to the forefront. “Through their media and event expertise, The Archers strengthen the foundation’s reach and engagement for the Clothe-A-Child Initiative. They will help showcase the initiative’s impact, mobilise volunteers, and highlight the stories of the children and communities benefiting from our programmes,” Marcus explained.
Anthonia Sokoya, the Ogun State LAF Coordinator, noted that the collaboration is a testament to the power of collective action in achieving sustainable social outcomes.
She expressed confidence that the added visibility would attract the broader support necessary to sustain the program’s success. “The partnership with The Archers will significantly strengthen the impact of the Clothe-A-Child Initiative. With their support, the foundation will be able to reach more children, raise greater awareness about the initiative and mobilise additional resources to ensure its success,” Sokoya said.
