Eid-El-Fitr: Reps Member Fetes Arewa, Muslim Faithful in Warri, Environs

Member of the House of Representatives, representing Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi, over the weekend feted Arewa Muslims and other Islamic faithful in his constituency to an Iftar dinner in Warri, the commercial hub of the state.
The Islamic faithful, including Imams, women and youths, were drawn from the various mosques in Warri Federal Constituency, particularly those in Warri and neighbouring Effurun.
Members of the political class in Warri South, Warri South West and Warri North Local Government Areas, which made up the Warri Federal Constituency, were also present at the gathering.
Those who joined Hon. Ereyitomi to host the Muslim Community were Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro; Delta State Commissioner for Trade & Investment, Samuel Oligida; Vice Chairman Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre; Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development Amb Dr Toyin Agbolaya; the Member Representing Warri South 1 Delta State House of Assemby, Hon. Uroye.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ereyitomi urged the Muslims to continue to dedicate their time for prayers to Delta State in particular and Nigeria in general, adding that the Ramadan period offers a moment for every Nigerian to reflect and pray for the country.
Chief Ereyitomi, who’s also the Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Resources Training Funds commended the Arewa and Muslim communities for their support and for always being there for him and the Party.
The lawmaker, who doled out N20million to 10 mosques in Warri and environs to empower and support the Arewa and Muslim communities, assured of more support in appreciation of their unwavering commitment to delivering the ruling party in Warri Federal Constituency as well as Presidential, State and Assembly elections, even as he promised to do more for all.
He declared “Continue to stand by us. And we will be there for you. The most important thing is worry not, we are part of you and you are part of us. So, there is no discrimination. No religious discrimination. We are all one”.
Hon. Ereyitomi acknowledged the support of the Muslims brothers and sisters in all elections in Warri federal constituency in Delta and Nigeria at large, adding that their votes made it possible, urging them to cast their vote for APC in the forthcoming general polls in order to continue enjoying good governance among others.
“Though it’s not time for politics now but when you see a politician in a gathering, he must talk politics. When it’s time for politics, we will come to knock at your door again when campaign begins, please open for us let’s do it again”.
“Our Muslim brothers and sisters, you have been so good for everything we do in Warri Federal Constituency. You have always been very supportive. Pls keep it up”, Hon. Ereyitomi said.
The Federal lawmaker disclosed that the event was put together to give back to the society stressing ” We didn’t start today, we have always been doing this for years”.
Chairman of the event, Chief Francis Omatseye, showered praises on the Lawmaker noting “Hon. Chief Ereyitomi is the man who always make us proud. Chief Ereyitomi is representing us very well in Warri Federal Constituency.
“He is our rallying point and true representative of Warri federal constituency. He is the man of the people and the Madugu of Arewa community in Warri. He has decided to gather and empower the Arewa community in Warri federal constituency”.
Chief Omatseye, the Obaloye of Warri Kingdom, commended the Warri Representatives Member, Chief Ereyitomi for always touching lives and urged others to cultivate the habit of touching lives.
Sarikin Hausa of Warri and its environs, Alhaji Muhammad Bello, acknowledged and thanked Chief Ereyitomi for the grant to the Arewa Community in Warri and its environs.
The Sarkin Hausa, who’s Goodwill message was read by the Waziri Sarkin Hausa of Warri and its environs, Adamu Muhammed Sanusi stated that, as constituents residing in Warri Federal Constituency Delta State, they appreciate Rep Ereyitomi’s prompt attention to the Arewa Community and his ongoing commitment to Arewa people.
According to Adamu Muhammed Sanusi, “Chief Ereyitomi, Your style of leadership and impact on the Arewa people in Warri and outside Hausa quarters is vital to the success of our local initiatives and it is greatly appreciated.
“Thank you for the dedicated services to the Arewa community, we are also appealing for job opportunities to engage some of our youths with relevant qualifications”, he added.
Highlight of the ceremony was a special prayer session for Ereyitomi, his family and constituents by the elated Muslim faithful.
They were later treated to a sumptuous Iftar dinner ahead of presentation of Ramadan gifts and cheques for the cash donations to the various mosques in Warri and its neighbourhood
